PARENT TESTIMONIALS

"I knew they were in loving hands, in a positive environment, and getting exceptional care."

- Melinda Roberson

Day Nursery of Abilene is more than a Day Care! I could not have made it without Day Nursery of Abilene! It was not like I was ever dropping my children off at day care. It was a special place for my children to go. I never had to worry about them. I could take them to their class and go on to work and concentrate on my job.

Day Nursery of Abilene is just something you want to be a part of. It's fun and a wonderful experience for kids. We were with Day Nursery for ten years. They have excellent opportunities for parent involvement and are very involved in the Abilene community. Parent meetings on informational topics such as fire safety and obesity in children were also available. The Elf Extravaganza when kids and parents come and make art and crafts that they can take home was a great opportunity for the kids to show off their "artistic" abilities.

Day Nursery of Abilene taught my children manners, table manners, and how to act on field trips, etc. They were also taught colors, shapes, ABC's, letters, numbers, and counting. Both of my children even learned to count to ten in Spanish! The children were also taught songs, sharing, and how to interact with other children. Day Nursery caregivers also work with babies on communicating and signs. Structure and scheduling is also of prime importance at Day Nursery of Abilene.

Child development is a primary goal of Day Nursery of Abilene. They know what a child should be doing and work with them until they are able to do it. Day Nursery taught the basic fundamentals that all children need for the rest of their lives.

"Knowing that my son was happy, safe, and well cared for gave me the peace of mind I needed to concentrate on school."

- Priscilla Rayford

As I mentioned, I couldn’t have made it through ACU without the assistance of Day Nursery of Abilene and its caring staff. As a young mother and college student I had very little money. When my childcare assistance ran out, the staff of Day Nursery of Abilene was able to arrange for me to pay based on my income which was very little. The ladies at the Ash Street Center (especially Mary in the baby room and Jewel in the toddler room) provided excellent care, taught me what to look for in a growing child, and took us under their wing. I have fond memories of his time there and warmly greet any of the ladies whenever I seem them.

"Day Nursery of Abilene provided my boys with valuable educational opportunities, but just as important allowed them to flourish as great individuals!"

- Mindy Whisenhunt

As a working mother, I trust and depend on Day Nursery to take care of my children’s physical, educational, and emotional needs. For over 13 ½ years I have had at least one child enrolled at Day Nursery of Abilene. They are our “family” and care for each of my boys as if they were their own. During difficult times, Day Nursery has been an inspiration to keep spirits high. It is a great comfort to know that my children are being cared for by the best caregivers in Abilene. Day Nursery provides tasty, nutritious meals and snacks for all children. And they sing praise before each meal. The educational experience has put my boys steps above when entering kindergarten. Even my now three year old can write his name! My boys learned valuable educational things, but just as important, they have flourished as great individuals!

"Day Nursery has been a partner in the process of raising our boys and we are grateful to them."

- Dennis and Kim Tarrant

We first took our oldest son, Troy, to Day Nursery Ash Street Center when he was 2 years old because we were dealing unsuccessfully with a biting problem at our former daycare center. Within 2 weeks, Ms. Jean had Troy cured. We are convinced she is an angel sent from Heaven. Not only did she teach him appropriate behavior in social settings, she showed him affection and love while guiding him. That gave us reassurance that he was well cared for while we were at work. His transition into kindergarten was made easier by Day Nursery staff and their commitment to teaching children, not just caring for their needs. Now he is almost out of high school and doing well. When the Cedar Street location opened in downtown, we transferred Troy there for convenience to our jobs where he formed some lasting friendships. Later, Troy’s little brother Clay joined him. Every day, we were greeted with smiles and the staff told us stories of the boys’ activities, good or bad. When you are a working mom, it is such a thrill to hear about the kind of day your children had. We were always pleased with the cleanliness of the facilities and the way the staff bent-over backwards to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied our boys were okay. Day Nursery has been a partner in the process of raising our boys and we are grateful to them.
